A Forest In My Pocket
A Forest In My Pocket
A Forest In My Pocket is a magical, augmented reality adventure for children.
Created by illustrator and animator Helena Papageorgiou and narrated by Mischa Long, A Forest In My Pocket leads kids and families on a trail of discovery to find magic in their homes and little worlds in their backyards.
Print-at-home images come to life via augmented reality using smartphone app, EyeJack. Simply download the series of three images below, place them around the house and have the EyeJack app ready to guide your children through this exciting adventure.
This experience is designed to be child-led, with help from the parents to set up the prints and technology.
In the first animation, the children will meet a little character, Morio, who will speak directly to your child and give them instructions for various tasks and activities around the home.
Here is a step by step guide to setting up this activity for your child.
Download the free EyeJack app from iTunes or on Google Play or scan the below QR code.
When your child is ready to play, open EyeJack and tap on the event 'Forest In My Pocket’ and tap ‘LAUNCH AR’. Aim your device at the artwork (the images you have printed) and the animation will begin to play on the screen of your smart device.
If you like, you can record the animation through the EyeJack app and save on your device, then share to social media.
Thanks to Kids on the Coast, if you share the animation or a photo of your kids on their adventure and post to Instagram with the hash tag #horizonartfest, you will go in the draw to win a deluxe picnic from Grazing Acres delivered to your home.
The winner will be drawn on 31 Aug and notified via DM. Please note this competition is only open to Sunshine Coast residents.

The adventure was created by Helena Papageorgiou, a video producer, animator, projection artist and illustrator. From concept to screen, Helena tells stories through movement, image and illustration.
The voice of Morio is narrated by Mischa Long, an artist, designer, performer and teacher who has spent more than 20-years working with Polyglot Theatre, a globally renowned company that creates, produces and tours theatre for children, with an emphasis on the children's own discovery and story making.
